What to expect...  You will see the wild Africa of legends. Visiting 3 National Parks including the world famous Maasi Mara you will see lions, elephants, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, and much more. Every day you will get instruction and tips from professional photographer Jason Wood. You will also get to see the Africa that other tourist safaris will not show you. You will see the villages and meet the people who struggle every day for the basic needs of clean water, food, health care, and education. Your help will enrich their lives and their stories will move yours.

Pricing - The cost for this Photo Tour is $4200 per person. There is an 8-person limit for this workshop so reserve your place right away.

What is included - This is an all-inclusive Photo Tour from Nairobi, Kenya this price includes all of your lodging, meals, in-country transportation, gratuities, park fees, bottled water, professional photography instruction, guides, and translators.

*Not included is airfare from US, film processing, alcoholic beverages, gifts or souvenirs.

Accommodations - For the first 8 days or The Safari portion of the trip we will be staying at 4-star hotels and lodges in Nairobi and the National Parks of Kenya.  For next 5 days or The Volunteer portion of the trip we will stay in modest homes and hotels in and around the ares we are working.  Our last  night back in Nairobi we will stay at a 4-star hotel. 

Schedule -

Jan 26 Day 1: Air Travel
Depart Minneapolis airport in the afternoon. Estimated travel time about 23 hours.

Jan 27 Day 2: Nairobi
Arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport around 9:30pm, meet our local guide David and be transferred to the Norfork hotel.

Jan 28 Day 3: Nairobi
We will drive to Nairobi National Park for an afternoon game drive where you are likely to see lions, buffaloes, gazelles, ostrich. In the evening, dining at the world famous Carnivore restaurant. You will have an opportunity to sample various game meat such as gazelle and crocodile. Return to Norfork hotel.

Jan 29 Day 4: Mara
Drive to the Maasai Mara National Park (MMNP). The reserve plays host to countless species, including the African big 5 - lions, leopard, elephants, rhino and cape buffalo. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Tented camp.

Jan 30 Day 5: Mara
Full day at the MMNP with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at the Sarova tented camp.

Jan 31 Day 6: Mara
Full day at the MMNP with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at the Sarova tented camp.

Feb 1 Day 7: Nakuru
Drive to Nakuru National Park (NNP) early morning after breakfast. On the way, go by Lake Naivasha for a boat safari for hippos. Lunch at the Nakuru Lodge. After lunch embark on a game drive in search of giraffe, cape buffalos, white rhino, leopards, zebras, lions and cheetahs. The alkaline lake often attracts concentrations of flamingos and pelicans. Dinner and overnight at the Nakuru Lodge.

Feb 2 Day 8: Nakuru
Full day at the NNP with morning and evening game drives. Enjoy the hotel facilities early afternoon before your evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Nakuru Lodge.

Feb 3 Day 9: Nyaoga
Drive to Nyaoga. Begin seeing and helping with Give Us Wings Projects. Spend the night in Nyaoga.

Feb 4 Day 10: Nyaoga
Seeing and helping with Give Us Wings Projects. Spend the night in Nyaoga.

Feb 5 Day 11: Nyaoga
Seeing and helping with Give Us Wings Projects. Spend the night in Nyaoga.

Feb 6 Day 12: Travel
Travel from Nyaoga to Nairobi.
Stay at Hillcrest hotel in Nairobi.

Feb 7 Day 13: Rift Valley Maasai
Travel to a native Maasai village. See and help with Give Us Wings Projects.
Spend the night.

Feb 8 Day 14: Ngong-Nairobi
Travel to Ngong. See and help with Give Us Wings Projects. Drive to Nairobi spend the night at the Norfork hotel.

Feb 9 Day 15: Nairobi-Air Travel
In the morning we will sightsee and gift shop in Nairobi. Later we will transfer to the Jomo Kenyatta Airport in the afternoon for our estimated 23 hour trip home.

Feb 10 Day 16: Arrive home.









Your photos needed - After the Photo Tour is over Give Us Wings may ask if you are willing to donate some of your photos of the people and projects to use at fundraising events back in the US. You are not obligated but I strongly encourage you to consider it.
